Community-Based Support

We want to recruit an army of volunteers through local churches, businesses and from the community who will help meet the needs of the families on the front lines of foster care! We have teams of volunteers who help host foster and adopt family events, provide meals, and meet materials needs. We also have individuals who step up to walk alongside a specific child as a mentor. When our foster families are under great stress, we love to be able to rally the community to show up for them and show them they are not alone. We believe if we can stabilize the family, we can stabilize the child. We believe that while not everyone can foster or adopt, everyone can do something. We encourage every person to find their something!

“Undoubtedly we would not be able to care for these kiddos without the support and encouragement of The Sanctuary! In a very tangible way, the staff came to the rescue when we were at the office for one of our bonus babies therapy and the other two rambunctious boys were running all over, Ms. Selena pulled a double stroller out of the back and just gave it to us… right then and there, like an angel sent from heaven! We still have this stroller and use it quite regularly!

For our family, local church partnerships with The Sanctuary have made it possible for us to open our home and continue to care for these kids from hard places. Daycare costs can add up quickly, especially when we added two more littles. We are so grateful for the couple of weeks worth of daycare that was provided by The Sanctuary through a sponsorship from a local church. This was such a relief and allowed us to focus our concerns and attention on the more important aspects of caring for the children.

There are so many aspects of caring for our foster families. One thing that I personally overlooked was the toll having bonus babies in our home would take on my biological children. Having the therapy options through The Sanctuary for my daughter was a game changer, truly priceless! They were able to offer weekly sessions for her at no cost to us… I know this would not be possible without the support of our community, business and local church partnerships. Forever grateful!"
