Our Faith Foundation

Founded by believers who have been deeply impacted by the Gospel of Christ, The Sanctuary Foster Care Services seeks to be the hands and feet of Christ to every child and family in our care. While we are not a church, we do seek and receive support from local churches, both financially and personally through volunteering. We welcome local churches to extend and share the Gospel and grace of Christ by wrapping around our families and children.

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
- Matthew 25:40

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit widows and orphans in their affliction.
- James 1:27

Statement of Faith

  • We believe God has eternally existed in three equal persons as one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe Jesus Christ, Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all people, rose again after three days, ascended into Heaven, and will return again to reign in Glory.

  • We believe The Holy Spirit, present in the world to help humans understand their need for Christ, lives in every Christian, empowers us to have understanding, and provides guidance to do what is right.

  • We believe The Bible, God’s Word written by human authors, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the source for Christian living and beliefs and is without error.

  • We believe Human Beings are made in the spiritual image of God but are also born in sin, which separates us from God.

  • We believe Salvation is a free gift of God that cannot be earned and must be accepted by trusting in Christ alone when we turn from our own self-rule to follow Jesus.

Because of these beliefs, out of the abundance of grace we have received, we strive to extend that grace toward any person with whom we come in contact, without discrimination.

“One of God’s most consistent commands to his people is that we protect the dignity and rights of those who are defenseless in society.”

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
- Micah 6:8
