Hope and real solutions with licensed counselors

Therapy & In-Home Support

As a part of our Wraparound Care, we provide professional counseling to our foster children, foster parents, and the foster family to ensure the stability and health of the placement. All of our therapeutic services are based on the Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) modality, which is evidenced to work well in supporting children and families affected by trauma. Our long-term vision is a staff full of licensed counselors at each branch who understand and are trained in TBRI, so that our families can have hope and real solutions to the challenges they face, especially for those caring for children with the most challenging behaviors.

“You cannot lead a child to a place of healing if you do not know the way yourself.” - Dr. Karyn Purvis, TBRI

Since adding a child to a home affects the whole family, we offer our foster families:

  • Individual therapy

  • Family therapy

  • Couples therapy

  • In-home therapeutic support

  • Child-centered play therapy for younger children (typically between 4-7 years of age) facilitated in our fully equipped therapeutic play room

We believe that providing Therapy and Counseling will help lower the reported 30-60% dropout rate by foster parents each year as well as lower the reported 76% placement disruptions due to foster parents’ inability to continue to foster due to lack of support. For more stats, click here.
