CLASS DESCRIPTION
TIC (Trauma-Informed Cared) 1 is an introduction to trauma and why it is crucial that foster parents understand trauma and its impact on the body and brains of foster children. The class further connects how the treatment modality TBRI (which we use) takes trauma into consideration when addressing behavior.
TIC (Trauma-Informed Care: TBRI Is Whole Child) 2 looks at all of the systems in the body that are affected by trauma and how we can uncover those needs by observing the patterns of behavior the child displays. The class goes further to discuss what TBRI strategy can be used to meet the need once it has been discovered.
This class is required for all new foster families but you must attend Foster Parent Orientation prior to participating in this class unless you have received prior authorization from the Licensing Department.
